organisational adoption

How to increase organisational adaption

Implementing a digital learning system can prepare your organisation to remain competitive as technology changes rapidly and markets are disrupted. The challenge is to develop effective engagement strategies to support the implementation of the project. You also need to place digital learning at the core of the organisation’s values and culture to ensure its continued success.

The importance of engagement in this transition cannot be understated; the success of a digital learning system in your organisation hinges on it. Stakeholders at all levels need to be engaged, they need to be empowered, and they need to understand “what’s in it for me?”

Five Steps to Increasing Motivation to Learn

Gamification – a magic formula that relieves training managers of all their worries?

Is your organisation focused on e-learning but struggling to convince employees to take part
in online training sessions? Are you constantly sending e-mail reminders to get your colleagues
to sign up for your training platform to download training material? And do you still have to
double check to make sure that they have not forgotten?
Wouldn’t it be nice if your learners wanted to complete your training sessions over and over
again; to perfect their skills, tell their colleagues about it and share their experiences with them?
Studies have shown, that using game elements within training courses can have exactly these
results. The term ‘gamification’ has become a buzzword. More and more organisations are
following this trend. It’s as if they have found a magic formula that relieves training managers of
all their worries.

Gamification requires specific planning to ensure optimal results

Gamification, however, is not just smoke and mirrors – it requires specific planning to ensure optimal
results. HR managers and decision-makers have to be able to recognise which gamification tools
are best suited for their purposes and how to use them effectively. This is not about thinking
up a new game, rather it’s about using small gaming elements to achieve big results. That’s
what successful gamification is all about!

Video: Get rid of Google with point-of-need learning

IMC partner Saffron Interactive at  Learning Technologies 2018 seminar:

Where do your employees turn when they need guidance in their daily roles? We’d all love to think it’s the LMS, company intranet or other designated knowledge repository. In reality, they’re much more likely to go to Google or a colleague instead. Yet this basic and fundamental learner need seems to be largely ignored by learning and development!

It’s been shown that getting the knowledge you need when you need it significantly increases productivity. This leads to better critical thinking, creativity, and employee engagement.

Can electronic performance support boost informal learning?

Much has been written about the 70:20:10 model of learning which recognises that roughly speaking, 70 percent of learning happens on the job, 20 percent comes from colleagues and 10 percent from formal training courses. Less is known, however, about how Electronic Performance Support (EPS) can help staff with on-the-job training.
Electronic Performance Support systems (EPS), also called Business Process Guidance systems, are computer or mobile-device-based systems that improve productivity by providing access to information, advice and learning experiences within the day to day workflow. EPS is not the same as standard ‘help’ tools, which merely concentrate on supporting questions of functionality from within specific software applications – EPS is delivered within any application and can provide support for that application or process by linking to other relevant enterprise systems where necessary.
